The COREX Story

Dr. Jim Marino began his career as an orthopedic surgeon, working directly with patients suffering acute and degenerative lower back pain. At the time, the procedure for relieving this was invasive, and commonly led to injury and trauma. Jim saw the opportunity to enhance his patient’s care, and as a result founded his first company, NuVasive.

As the founder of NuVasive, Dr. Marino developed a method for extracting cancellous bone with less trauma and to help improve patient outcomes.

Jamil Elbanna joined Dr. Marino to turn his vision into a reality, and COREX was born.
